Today's the day. I only watch a couple hours of TV a week, and Grey's is my biggest obsession. My kids call it "The-doctor-show-where-you-can't-talk-until-the-commercial". So happy to have lazy Thursdays back. If you need a refresher, click HERE for a recap of last season's finale. Happy McWatching!
My rock star, always dependable smiling Baby B was not ready for one year portraits on his big day. We called it quits and rescheduled to much better results! His big blue eyes are more brilliant every time I see him! Some faves:
See what I mean about the gorgeous eyes? I see this on a big ol' canvas:
And, the cake. There were no dainty bites today! He tore that cake apart chunk by chunk:
Lastly, great-grandma was part of the entourage today and posed for a few:
Thanks to B's pit crew for another fun session. You are all masters of changing, bathing, combing, and prepping!
Big B turned 8 years old yesterday, which is half way to driving as the hubby pointed out. I cannot believe my first baby is eight. He's growing and maturing so much that I can't even keep up in the world of second graders. It also makes me feel like time is flying---eight years ago we were in the middle of remodeling our first home (in NE), I was teaching first grade, driving a car (not a Mom-mobile), and only had one niece to spoil. Times change! I'm wishing my man a year of happiness and fun!
I got chills during this shoot...just seeing a little girl in her Daddy's uniform smiling and pretending to be him. Doesn't hurt that she is adorable and a "cheeser" who loves portraits. I LOVE dress up shoots with parents' and grandparents' items, because it provides the child with such a beautiful keepsake and a legacy to pass on to their future children.
She has other interests beyond the law:
E, they are all gorgeous from today. She did so fabulous at smiling and posing, that I'm officially forgiving the busted eye and boogers that mean double the editing time!
This week an extended family visited the studio, and I'm still working on their portrait gallery. Here is a sneak peek, featuring the newest member of the family (and star of the show!). She was a champion smiler and got passed around countless times, but hung in there ---even during an evening session.
