We joke that my oldest son is a miniature Alex P. Keaton, Michael J. Fox's character from Family Ties. Big B is a buttoned up, ultra conservative, very serious little man -- always has been. While it is fabulous to have the most well-behaved child in the world, I truly thought he was defective at first. I was a Special Ed teacher of mostly Behavior Disordered first graders, and could not believe that my son was for real. We actually celebrated his first time-out, because I was so relieved to see some sass come out of him.
Fast forward eight years, and he remains sensitive and thoughtful and the champion of rule-following and all things orderly. He reads the rules at the mall play place EVERY time. He asks me if I'm following the speed limit and chastises me for going through yellow lights. He writes thank you notes after receiving gifts. When he accompanies my husband to the office on Saturdays, he wears shirt, tie, wing tips, and brings his very own briefcase stocked with supplies (photo below). He verifies the rules and regulations when playing any new sport. It's like having my own personal Alex P. Keaton.

How cute is that!?!?! I can't believe how old he is getting. I remember when he was born....doesn't seem that long ago!
